Tpms sensors

So i purchased new wheels and new tpms sensors. Had them installed today but shop said they couldnt get the tpms sensors to work.

 

So my questions is, with new sensors and not reusing the stock sensors, will a relearn tool work or do the new sensors actually have to be reprogrammed into the vehicle for the vehicle to acknowledge the new sensors?

When i got new wheels and tires with tpms i had to take it to a tire shop to have them relearn them.

You can do it yourself with a TPMS Trigger tool or just drop by your dealer. I paid about $70 for a Bosch tool and do my own. With 2 sets of wheels and tires (one winter) it's a pain to take the truck to someone else twice a year.
