PVD Chrome, specifically wheels

Familiar with PVD Chrome? Having a set of wheels and getting them PVD coated seems to have been around for a little while now but some wheel companies have started making PVD Chrome options now too. Some googling around other forums showed that some people have had issues with them still peeling/cracking like regular chrome and minor scratches starting to show up in the top layer, others have had them for 2+ winters and still look brand new. They are supposed to be low maintenance from what I've read ie soap and water wash only.

Anyone have any first hand experience?

Mine are PVD Black Chrome. No winters yet, but I have read good things about them. When the get chips though, the color under is kinda yellowish from what I read. No chips yet. Mine did show top coats marks after mounting and balance, so be aware of that as a possible issue.

They do clean up nice and easy though, that's nice.

I have two winters on my PVD wheels and they look like new. Magesium Chloride doesn't etch PVD like it does chrome for anyone in northern climates where they use it to reduce freezing temp of ice.
