Bed light question

Ok, so I'm still kinda new to my recently bought '06 Z71 and I was wondering if there is any way to get the bed light on the back of the cab to come on when I open the doors? The pushbutton by the dash is a bit of a pain. I have the LT3 trim I think (leather, auto air, power everything). Any help appreciated.

I'm sure it could be done by splicing the power lead to the cargo lamp into the dome light circuit. Somebody smarter than me could probably tell you how to do that.

It's doable, worse problem is access to wiring. I'm in the process of installing bed lights tied into my cargo lights. Ran the wires from cargo light to inside the bed while I had the interior panels out for speaker upgrades. On my '02", the cargo/third brake light wires are run down the middle of the headliner. You can pull the dome light to see if you can gain access to the wires. Basic electrical knowledge is required, and a wiring diagram showing which wires you need. Behind the dash is nearly impossible to access.
