New member-trouble with '07 GMC Sierra 1500

HI! Last night hubby was driving the truck and light came on saying "no oil pressure, shut off engine immediately". He checked and there was NO OIL. He changes it at 3000 miles because we commute 45 miles to work every day. I keep seeing oil pump but not sure since there was no oil when he checked it :help::help:

Howdy!

No oil is very rare...I doubt the engine burned it all without you noticing a blue smoke color coming out of the exhaust. Is the drain plug tight? Otherwise just take a few moments to look all over the engine and underneath to find where it went.

Thanks. We are going to get oil and filter tonight and he is going to look at it. We noticed nothing. Just yesterday it said that. Haven't seen any oil spots in our driveway. Hoping it's an easy fix

I'm surprised it didn't show "oil level low" first.

That's how I found out that my 07 Sierra was an oil burning POS.

Well, it was about time to change the oil anyway, but when he checked last night, it had none. SO between Tuesday when we drove together and last night when he was out with his step dad, it lost the oil somewhere.

We've had the truck a couple years now and never had a problem with the oil getting low
