Upper windshield water leak

In my 2003 Sierra I get water leaking right above the mirror off of the fuzzy trim onto the mirror which then drips onto my dash and off my heater control area. I bought this truck with a round rubber vhf antenna mount near the front of the roof. I always thought that was leaking as it was somewhat loose and had been siliconed around it. I had taken it loose further to inspect and as I got near rain season I got it set down properly and I siliconed it on well. I thought I would have no leak, but no, it is the same as when it was loose. I looked closely and I couldn't see how that mount is what's doing the leaking.

I poured water above the windshield, but below the antenna mount. That causes water to leak inside, so it is not the antenna mount, it is leaking at the top of the windshield seal. I have done lots of auto work, but F/R glass is not my forte. I see there are metal mouldings left and right that I can get off if needed. But the upper is just a rubber seal that looks like it may be something that can be pulled out and then reinstalled giving me access to where I can put some sealant in to stop the leak, but I am not sure of that. Can someone give me some insight on this specific setup and tell me how I can work on this to get to the potentially leaking area?

I’d like to be able to take the drain pan off of the dash when parked and not have a watery mess when driving in the rain or end up with electrical problems! Thanks for any help.
