Do I need a tune???

Just got a 2015 Sierra SLT 1500. Got the GM Borla cat back, and going to get a CAI as well. What would I gain from a tune with only these mods? Would a bully dog or similar give me what I need, or do I really need to spend the extra $$$ on a Diablew or BBP tune? Thanks in advance. I am sure this has been beaten to death.

Intake and exhaust no tune needed (gains of any sort are very minimal with those two bolt on parts). Any sort of tuning especially something like Blackbear will give you a better driving truck to your liking.

x2, intakes make zero power, exhaust just sounds better, tuning simply helps driveability. There is slight power and mileage picked up but its mute.

I had the 15 Silverado 5.3 LTZ. I added K&N CAI, CatBack, and a Diablo custom intune by Lew. The tune made power. The CAI and CatBack made noise. The drone from the exhaust when towing was just too loud. Old Sylvia got totaled and I'm in a new 15 Sierra with the 6.2 8 Spd combo. A huge bump up from the 5.3 even after the add-ons. I've held off on the CAI and CatBack but did order a new I2 from Diablo. The drivability from the tunes is well worth it in my opinion.

You can always benefit from a custom tune. Your truck will feel more responsive when you mash down on the skinny pedal. But that's just my $.02
