no more tick

I wanted to post this for anyone else with a valve tick like I had.

 

 

I reciently bought a 2005 sierra 1500 with a 5.3 and after I broght it home the next day a tick arose . it had that normal I read rattle starting but after a few miles driving to work iwhen stopped at a light a single tick would get louder, sometimes quiet some loud. stop the motor and restart aand it would go away idle for a spell then it would come back .

I tried motor flushes and a mechanic suggested adding 10w40 oil and lucas treatment and it was gone for a week sweet I though it was gone then it returned so I had the shop I bought my used sebring from replace the lifters. and new synthetic blend 5w30 oil and it was quiet for a day. back the next. I read online a guy replaces the o ring on the oil pick up and it was gone also people replacing the oil pump wich made sence as it came when idling idling I ws 25 psi about 25 driving around town. so I had my shop install a melling 10296 high volume pump

now NO MORE TICK even starting there is no valve noise. and idling the psi is about 50. driving 1500 rpm about 60 and stay there
