Question about Rigid D2/Dually fog lamps

Hi everyone.

 

I got a '14 GMC Sierra that didn't have fog lamps from the factory. I was thinking about getting the Rigid fog lamp Sierra mounts for my truck. it says the you can get the dually or D2 series of fog lamps.

 

What I am wondering is that are these fog lamps too bright for other drivers? Can I drive with these on on the roads? I want to keep them on all the time when I drive at night.

 

The D2 is double the price of the dually series. Is it worth the extra money?

Neither one of these can be legally run on the roads. They are not approved for road use. They're both too bright.

However, rigid industries does make a DOT/SAE approved fog light that is incredible. I highly recommend it.

^ I second what he said. Another option would be the LED fog lights from The Retrofit Source.

So these would fit with Rigids '14 Sierra fog mount kits right?

 

Also besides a full retrofit of the crappy Sierra SLE headlamps, anyone got any pointers for a set a decent easy to install fix for the headlamps that will match the these foglamps?

To my knowledge, the only kit that will work with the DOT/SAE Rigids is this one: http://www.rigidindustries.com/mounting-options/46511

 

It does required permanent modification to the OEM fog housing so that you're aware.

 

I had it on my last Sierra and loved it. Very easy install. Very clean, bright, legal light
