" Engine oil low" message.

I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 truck. Has about 96000 miles. Haven't really had any issues. Been running great. Did notice recently, that the driver information center began displaying, " engine oil low". I checked the oil level and it was fine. Between the dots on the dipstick. Had an oil change done, still got the message. Does anyone know what part / sensor that message comes from? Is it something I can change myself?.

The sensor is on the side of the pan (sticking into it). Probably check and make sure that the wires/plug leading to the sensor are intact before going for sensor replacement...

Thanks, I'll crawl under and check that. Do you know what part that is called?. Is it an oil level sensor, etc.

Yes, correct. It is the oil level sensor.
