15 Silverado speaker and amp help

Hopefully someone can guide me in the right direction. I'll try to make this as easy to read and follow as possible. I have a set of pioneer http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22430_Pioneer-TS-D1702R.html for the front doors and pioneer http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_11269_Pioneer-TS-D1602R.html for the rear doors and will be adding a http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_93408_JL-Audio-ACS110LG-TW1.html for my sub. I will be keeping the factory non Bose radio. Here's some of my questions. The door speakers are rated at 60 watts RMS.

1. Would u still amp the speakers or would you be able to get away with just the head unit power? As it stands now the stock radio is fairly low in the volume area. At say 3/4 volume it is just getting load. Not looking to be heard down the street I just want some wiggle room to play with so I can get loud say on the highway w the windows down.

2. If I run a 4 CH amp that pushes less wattage, say 45-50 will all be OK. I was looking at the pioneer gm a6604 and it is reasonably price but just looking to keep final build price low.

The other question is if amping the speakers and still using the stock hu, the pioneer amp has speaker level inputs. Again I'm not looking to go all out so would using the speaker level inputs be OK. I wouldnt need to run a remote wire as the amp is signal sensing off the speaker level inputs. Would this be significantly less quality than RCA's. I would think unless I put an AM hu its a mute point since I still would need to run speaker levels to a LOC.

With the the powered sub I would just splice into the front left or right speaker wires to get a signal. This sub is also signal sensing so a remote wire is not needed.

I've installed many speakers and hu in my previous cars but always replaced the hu so RCA's were always used and wiring was straight forward. Now with everything integrated into everything it gets a bit tougher.

Everything you said should be just fine. With regards to the sub, you're going to want to use both front left AND right channels as some songs may have a split stereo bass part. I agree, the stock amplification is fairly quiet with aftermarket gear (I personally run Rockford Fosgate Punch series speakers in mine). Using a 4 channel amp shouldn't cause you issues, but bear in mind that you may have to use filtration to account for alternator whine.

Thanks man. I installed the rear coaxials already and they are super quiet. I have the front components and the PPI amp, speedwire, local and stuff will be in on Monday. I have one of the metra connectors now just waiting on installer.com to get off their butt and get the other one in the mail. The jl sealed sub is installed tapped into the l and r front speakers and she does pound but I am looking maybe in the spring lifting the rear seat to get a custom box and get 2 10s in. I honestly can't wait to get the amp in to see the difference in sound quality from the doors!

That's great. My rears are quiet too,but that's mainly because it's a standard cab and they were intentionally volume limited from the factory. I have Fosgate Punch component speakers and a 10" Fosgate sub (sealed box) powered by a bridged 2 channel Fosgate Punch amp. It sounds great. I'm glad you're happy with it!
