GM Recall on older trucks?

Hmm...didn't know anything about it.  I'm drivin' a 94' SWB and hadn't had any trouble with mine.  I'd be interested to hear what it was though.

It's too bad GM is only going to cover the 94 and up pickups! :smash:

I had to replace my circut board on my 93 prior to this official recall. Also a few of my friends with their early 90's GM trucks have had "wiper problems" until they coughed up the 50 bucks to by a "new" circut board from th "stealer".

All it is that causes the problems is broken solders.  All you need is a soldering iron and a few minutes to fix it.  No need for a new board.

Yea,

My 97 S-10 wiper blades started acting up about 2 years after I got her.  They only worked in two speeds, low & hi.  They got so bad that they would not work & I heard a funny noise when I turned them on.  Had to get out of my truck and kinda jump-start them a few times to get them to work.  Took her back to the dealer and they fix it but started acting up again.  But I finally ended up trading her in last year for my new gal.

my wiper motor quit on me for a while, in a hugh storm while driving of course. it would sometimes turn on and sometimes not. after telling my dad who's a mechanic about it, he hit next to it with a hammer and it has worked fine since. sometimes all you need is a bfh.

hey guys, glad to hear someone else is having somewhat the same problems. My trucks wipers won't turn off. They keep going until they are good and ready to turn off. Have you heard of this as well??

Mine did that last year after I had hosed out the engine compartment real good. They run when they pleased.

I found the box containing the circuit board for the motor full of water. After swabbing it out and blowing it dry, everything was back to normal. I used some silicone sealer on the cover and haven't had the problem again. Mike
