Rear Strut Access in Geo Prizm

My daughter has a '95 Geo Prizm that has a rattle from the rear suspension when unsprung going over bumps.  I'm thinking that the rear struts need replacing or at least tightening up at the top.  She has the split, folding rear seat with fixed side bolsters on each side.  Behind these bolsters, I can see the top of the strut towers, but how do I get these bolsters out of the way?  There are no fasteners visible.  One buddy suggested just giving them a good yank and deal with the results later, but my daughter had nixed that plan.  Suggestions or experience?

My buddy has a 94 or 95 prizm that was broken into.  His back seat was yanked straight forward to gain access to his trunk to steal his box.  It was just held on by clip so we ended up just pushing it back in place.
