2015 Sierra 1500 SLE headlight Switch light

There is a small rectangle plastic piece on the leading edge of the headlight switch identical to the one in the 4WD switch just above it. The one in the 4WD switch lights up with dash lights the one in the headlight switch does not. Dealer says it's not supposed to. REALLY! Can anyone confirm or disprove this for me?

The one on the 4wd switch lights up amber without dash lights. Just helps with a visual on what mode transfer case is in.

 

The one on the headlight switch lights up white with lights on and does not light up when lighs off.

jhplak325 Mine is not a Denali just a Sierra 1500. It works just a little different Where that is not a light at all says the dealer. I'm really starting to not like this truck.
