my 2014 sierra engine oil

its weird whats going on. last 2 oil changes i had to top off my oil numerous times 6-7liters of oil within 10000km. since my last oil change (now 1800km on this oil) my oil has gone farther up the dipstick. it has now climbed 3/4" about the full mark. i have also noticed a huge fuel economy loss. i cant explain this except for fuel dilution in the oil, as the oil is still pretty clean.

 

i think i will take a sample and send in for an oil analysis

It's got 1800km and usually goes 10,000 between changes.

 

8000km (5000 miles) is far to long to wait before finding out why the level is going up. I'm more concerned when an engine is 'making oil' than when it is using a little.

 

 

6-7 litres in 10,000km (6 qt in 6000 miles) is also way to much. Are you sure it sat long enough for all oil to drain back before checking?

 

 

Might be time to find some good tech support.
