Wife just purchased a 2016 Terrain. Her IPhone 6 is bluetooth connected to the truck and to the wifi hotspot. When she is using facebook on her phone the radio pauses the music. Then we you have to go to source and choose XM to get the music back. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

I have a 2015 Sierra and the same issue is happening with mine. Actually when I finish a call the radio defaults to playing music off my phone and I have to select the XM as the source for it to return to the radio. Very annoying to say the least. Apparently a recent update Apple did broke the compatibility with the GM radio software. My dealer said they are aware of it and GM is working on a solution. He had no idea when a software update would be available.

Just bought a 2016 Canyon and I've been trying to learn all this 'new stuff'. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one having issues.

I had to log out of 'Pandora' because every time I'd get in the truck - it'd play out of the phone (even when Pandora wasn't even loaded). Needless to say, I'm not using Pandora anymore. I do have (and pay for) Spotify.

If my Spotify is open (on the phone) and I pick my iPhone from the media list - it plays in the phone (via AIRPLAY). I have to upswipe from the bottom to 'select' GMintellink. I'm getting Spotify to play in the truck via Bluetooth without WIFI (and not plugged in) but every time I change a mode, make a call, send or receive a text....it plays out of the phone and I have to select GM Intellilink again. And yes...misc times where the music stops playing for a few seconds for no apparent reason. I'd blame that on misc Bluetooth interferences or other technological glitches.

Seems it's not necessarily Apple's programming VS GM programming. My husband has had a couple different vehicles with similar features and he's never had issues like this when Apple has an update. Things just work.....

    • About the only GM that compares well with its competitors through the small to midsize vehicles is the Trax. I would like nothing better to just drive GMs. My wife in a Cadillac me in a Chevy minivan and Colorado. Part of my day is comprised of reading and watching comparisons of automobile. I could buy a car today. I’m back to research the next.
