Flowmaster Install

So i just got done installing a flowmaster outlaw series catback dual exit exhaust on my 2014 sierra crewcab. I managed to get the stock exhaust out in one piece by dropping the spare tire, jacking up under the reese hitch, and a good bit of man-handling.

 

I love the sound, its right on the edge of too loud for my taste but i can live with it. Nice and throaty.

 

I'll see if i can get some pictures up later.

 

Only thing is, the pipe the runs to the left side of the truck is very close to, and basically is, touching the spare tire. I'm concerned about heat/rubbing damaging the spare. Should i remove the spare or is the a way to adjust the exhaust pipe away from it?

Drop the tire down and while cranking it back up, move the tire a bit away from the pipe. the tire isn't centered anymore but it will be away from the exhaust pipe. i had to to that with my Magnaflow 15268 install.

How does it sound in V4 mode?

i dont know about the v4 mode. i have a range afm disabler so it doesnt go into v4. (kinda pricey but i recommend it if you dont want v4 and dont want to tune, dont lose any gas mileage either)

Ive been looking at this system for some time. I just think the price is right and I like the black double walled tips. I like the the Cora but the price is a little much. I definitely want to hears some clips and see some pics.

I have to disagree on disabling v4 not hurting mpg's. If you drive around town most of the time then maybe not but on a 4 lane hwy doing 55 or faster then you will lose mpg's by taking out V4 mode. I plan on disabling AFM as well and probably going with flows but I am waiting out my warranty before I do.

Before disabling it my highway mileage averaged 18-19. Just took a 500 mile trip one way and averaged 18-19 with as high as 21 on the 50 mile average. It all depends on how you drive. My average around town has been from 10-15. So i havent seen any decrease, i dont know if you have, but i havent

I got for about $720 on amazon prime.

 

I'll try to get a video up tomorrow, but theres a couple videos on youtube that sound good. Videos never do it justice though
