Who likes autoride?

I recently purchased a 2001 K1500 LT Suburban with autoride. Upon test driving the vehicle I noticed that the ride was a little rough, I was not to concerned, thinking that I could throw some Edelbrock IAS shocks on to rectify the

situation. Apparently thats not the case. Ya, I know it's a truck, but I don't think I am getting the ride that GM advertises. Suggestions? Help! Thanks.

Take a good look at the rear shocks, both of my Autoride shocks were leaking at about 20K miles and were replaced under warranty. And, check your tire pressures - higher pressures = rougher ride no matter what suspension you have. Do you have a tow/haul switch? With Autoride it supposedly firms up the shocks - I use it for spirited driving in the twisty bits.

Maybe you should check your autoride - how I don't know! Mine is smooooth! A buddy of mine has a non auoride equipped Yukon and he noticed the difference straight away.

Thanks for the input. My local dealer says the suspension is OK. The rough ride is probably a tire issue. I will be looking into getting ahold of a set of Z71 takeoffs. www.fleetauto.net has a great selection of new takeoffs.

How do you know if you have the Autoride feature? Does anyone know the RPO? Or is it something that can be noticed by looking at the rear suspension?

From the ones I've seen it say Autoride below the LT symbol on the side of the vehicle. Don't know if that's universal though. Chris

I don't have autoride on any of my vehicles..

but what I do have is autodrive:

I put the cruise control on and let my friend hold the steering wheel. It's amazing.. without any control from me the vehicle just seems to drive itself!!
