gas mileage

Just completed a trip to Branson, MO and averaged 16.8 mph for the 1500HD 2 wheel drive.  I thought this was ok considering that it only has 1700 miles on it.

Anybody getting anything significantly different.

Thanks,

Jeff

My 2001 1500 (5.3L) gets around 18.5 empty, about 14 pulling my boat (highway trips).

My 2003 2500HD (Duramax/Allison) gets around 21 empty, about 12.5 pulling an 8,000# 5th wheel.

I did a 600 miler in mine a couple weeks ago I got 15..that was @70MPH with 1 stop to fill up. Better than I see pulling my rig when it goes to 5 or 6. Worst I see was 3.6..Best I ever seen was 17 . I only check it about once a month anymore or so not overly concerned. MPG is a joke..there is so much of that nasty black stuff in the ground..what better way to get rid of it and get the Liberial's panties in a bundle.

Mine is pleanty broken in 18,000 miles.

Not that I am concerned with gas mileage, but I've only got 1000 miles on it so far and I am am averaging 11.9. That should go up a few mpgs when it's got a few more miles on it (and if I can keep my foot out of it). It's better than I got with the 7.4 litre big block I had in my '99 K2500...that thing would pass anything but a gas station!

You've gotta love burning fossil fuels! They just keep making more.
