Okay boys, I have replaced the alternater the distributor cap the terminals and the battery. Just about everything is new. My truck will completely lose power and the faster I go the more the battery dies. Idk what else to do to the truck to fix the problem. I know the older vehicles has a voltage regulator. And the newer ones has it built into the alternator. But idk if my truck does. Any advice?

Have you checked the grounds? Battery to frame, frame to engine? If your truck has aftermarket tow wiring make sure the connections are not rotted. My 97 had bad connections on my tow plug wiring. This caused my voltage gauge to be all over the place. Resolved all connections and now all is good

I agree with the above post to check all grounds, and I'll add to check all battery cables and connections. Crazy electrical gremlins are almost always bad grounds or other connections. You could have something worse going on, but I'd start there.

 

To answer your question, the voltage regulator is in the alternator.
