2002 suburban Check engine light will not come on even with forced cod

I have an 02 suburban with the 5.3 vortec I cannot get the mil indicator to work and have already checked the bulb and ign1 fuse in the cab of the truck what steps do I take next to make sure it's the PCM not wiring

I'd say if it ain't broke, don't fix it! What makes you think it is supposed to be on?

Trust me I wish I could not fix it it fails the emmisions test because it doesn't come on when the ignition is put into the on position and the gauge cluster does its self test
