Driver side air bag

03 Chevy 2500hd I replaced the clock spring behind the steering wheel. As I was putting everything back together, the steering wheel airbag popped into place, but about a half inch too high. I can't remove it now like normal by pressing in the two holes on the backside of the steering wheel. Anyone have any idea how to get the air bag out? Or what even happened? I've been fighting with it for about an hour now and can't get it out.

did you take the horn pieces off? 2 metal brackets that the airbag pops into. If so you may have put them back on upside down. To get the airbag back off carefully go at an angle and find the tabs, you'll feel them move in a little when you get them, just be really easy.
