Need help and Advise 2015 GMC

I have a 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 Diesel 4x4 which I love.

So I have a problem, please offer advise.

 

I got the truck for its towing ability and for my Northern Lite truck camper ( 8-10 model).

The first thing I did was to put on a leveling kit. (I dont like nose down look). Then I put on Goodyear Wrangler Duramax LT 285/70/18 10 ply tires.

After this I was tossed between air bags and supersprings. I went with supersprings only because I was told they wont activate until I had a load on the bed of the truck ( camper).

So now Im ready... I thought. Just so happens a miscellaneous mechanic says to me as I was leaving the shop...why did you do that, The GMC ride is great.

 

Well ok, you got it. When empty it rides worse than a tank. Almost, I mean borderline "intolerable"

 

I can change things, but I thought I had the right package.

Please feel free to offer advise as to how to fix this. Its killing my back

Air bags probably would have given a better ride. I usually found inflating them up a bit with about 1/2 inch of lift and my trucks would always ride better as they where on the bags more.
