Emblem coming off

The "Silverado" emblem on my tailgate is coming off at one end. Should I try to glue it back down or just replace? If I bend it up a little to try and get some adhesive back in, will it wrinkle or crease the emblem?

I would pull the entire thing off, remove the old adhesive, and replace it with new adhesive. If you really want to make it stick, you can go to a hardware store and buy this 5 minute epoxy gel. Make sure it is the gel...you put that stuff on there, hold it on the truck for about 5 minutes, and bam...it ain't ever coming off again. It's good stuff.

:D I had the same problem, too. I thought about regluing it, but decided that I might as well make good on my warranty and make the dealer fix it. Sure enough, looks like it did on day one, without having to spend a penny (excluding gas, of course  ) I fyou still have a warranty, I would suggest that, otherwise, I'm sure glue would work just as well. Be sure to clean the area before you apply it. :smash:

I went the other way on my 2000. I purposely pulled off the emblems on the doors and the tail gate within a few days of buying it new. Wife just sjhook her head when she saw me doing it. I hate trying to wash/polish around those darn things. Besides I'm an old fart from the 50s/60s where we took all the emblems off and did some body work to fix the holes and then painted it. Its a lot easier now to do it with the double sided tape.
