2006 Radio

Just bought a 2006 GMC 1500 to use around the ranch. None of the speakers work, other than the small tweeters in the front doors.

 

Any common issues? Not too familiar with this year truck.

haha, the radio in general. I've checked all fuses and followed the wiring. I guess tomorrow I'll check voltage. Like i said the tweeters in the front doors work, but no other speakers.

Speakers are most likely all separated from their basket and fried. Really common.

 

Fronts will be 6.5" rears will be either 4x6 or 6.5 depending on regular cab, extended cab, or crew cab.

 

I replace speakers that have this as their cause daily. Rarely are the speakers not the problem. They are just paper and foam from the factory. Even the bose "premium"

be careful when looking at 6.5in speaker, not all of them fit correctly, even with the dumb plastic spavers they try and sell you. 6.75in fit perfect without the spacers.

It is the speakers, pulled the panels off and they're all shot.

 

I only drive this truck once or twice a month so cheap speakers from walmart will suffice.

 

I've heard different sizes from different people, and don't really want to go thru the hassle of exchanging them.

 

What size do i need for front and rear? Crew Cab... thanks!
