Newbie w 1987 3500 w sticky TBI

Hello everyone. I hope that this is the correct (best) category to post my question. I just purchased my 1987 GMC 3500, 5.7, TBI, manual trans. truck. It is in good overall condition with good maintenance and repair history. One of the more nagging problems is that the throttle pedal is very notchy (sticky), right off idle. This makes it very difficult to drive smoothly. The interesting issue is that it is very smooth when the engine is not running. If you manually manipulate the cable, or the TBI shaft, or both together, (when not running) it is very smooth and easy. It is only when the engine is running that it becomes difficult to move away from the closed stop. Any thoughts? Everything has been lubricated (as best as possible). Also, can someone recommend a source for interior parts like upholstery, window and door seals, door lock parts and the like? Thanks, Andy

Try letting off the gas pedal slowly,if you let off quickly the butterflies can get jammed in the venturis when closing.LMC Truck for parts,they can get pricey but mostly good stuff.

Thanks for the reply. Throttle sticks badly no matter what. I found a local fellow with the tool to drill throttle body for new bushings. Thanks for the LMC info.
