PLEASE help rookie on rear view mirror wiring hookup.

I am rebuilding and upgrading parts on my 1988 chevy k2500. Nice truck just needs some upgrading.

One of the parts I am wanting to upgrade in the rear view mirror. I replace the orginal with a 1990s mirror that has 2 reading lamps on the lower edge.

This mirror has 4 wires

When I hookup up the jumpers this is what I noticed:

Black for ground

orange hot overrides the switches, both lamps come on all the time and stay on regardless of the switch positions

pink with black stripe for ????

white for ????

I am wanting to hookup these wires to my dome light in the rear section of the cab. I tried a jumper wire to my orange 12 volt positive and another jumper to my white ground after verifing voltage and ground.

Suggestions or helpful advice is welcome. Just please don't post read a wiring diagram because I have none available to read.
