Door Ajar/Seatbelt Tones

Ok, with my last truck ('99 K2500) when the driverside door was left open and the key on...the door buzzer was quite annoying. I found the buzzer up under the dash and disconnected it. It was a small black box about the size of a pack of cigarettes. I re-installed it when I traded it for the new truck. Now it seems that my '03 has the tones coming thru the driverside front door speaker and I would bet that the tones are controlled by the computer. Is there any way to stop the tones from working? I often like to leave the doors open and radio on when I am detailing the truck in my driveway but the tones are driving me nuts (I know...short trip!). Surely there is some kind of fix for this. Can the computer be re-programmed to turn the tones off? Help!!

You can control the volume (see your user manual) but I don't know of any way to disable them.

And I was looking forward to a compete tear down. Hee hee!

There are two settings. Normal and Loud. I believe they used these words to describe the tone because Aggrevating and Real Aggrevating wouldn't fit on the radio display. Normal isn't much better than loud.

I'm hoping that like the high-beam indicator they soon can do a quick fix at the dealer. My truck goes in Monday to have the high-beam toned down.
