Just saw "We Were Soldiers" today.  I was impressed, except for a couple of kinda "sappy" scenes.  If you liked "Black Hawk Down", this is similar in intensity, and in some ways not as political.

 

And from everything I've read, it was very realistic, although the Northern California set didn't seem to me to be enough "Vietnam-like", even for the highlands.  I also thought it did a decent job presenting the NVA side of the story (on the battle field).

 

I'd definitely recommend it if you don't mind the blood-n-guts.  Mel, Sam Elliott, and Barry Pepper were all excellent! :devil:  :D
