I have a squeak at low speeds on bumpy roads. Apparently coming from the left front. I work with another Trailblazer owner and he has the same squeak. Has anyone had this squeak and had it repaired?

The squeak can be many things. One of the most common reported on the forums is the two rubber stop posts for the hood. Many owners have lubed these stop post to stop the squeak. Other than the hood stop post it could be a loose front fascia, any number of mechanical items, the list of possibilities is endless. I would try lubing the hood stop post first since it's one of the most common and easiest to fix. Follow up on this thread and let us know if that fixes the squeak.

My squeek was a tiny pebble wedged behind the L/F brake backing plate. It would only squeek once in a great while. I removed the pebble and a year later I have not had any more squeeks.

It is probably the hood stops. However, lubing does not always solve the problem. There are also two hood "guides / adjusters" for lack of a better word, that are on springs, one on each side of the hood release mechanism. These are adjustable, and can be tightened or loosened, thereby increasing or decreasing their height. What I did was take a ruler and set each adjuster to the same height, this eliminated the squeak. Just be careful, if you go to high or to low, you will actually affect the height of the hood when it is closed. Ideally you want the hood to be flush with the fenders when closed.

I too have heard squeeks in my trailblazer going over bumps. I took it in to get it looked at and they said there was a bullitin out and they replaced a couple of springs for me. It stoped the squeek, but now I hear another squeek when I make left turns on bumpy roads. I took it in again and they couldn't find anything (doesn't happen all the time and they couldn't reproduce the squeek). I will try the hood stops and see if that helps.

i know this is an old thread, and im new, but the reviews and reports on the infamous squeak on the front end of the trailblazers, especially 02 models seems to be from the front brake rotors (not a braking squeal, but a rubbing squeak) and the control arms.

Like others have mentioned, the hood stops where the problem on my wife's Envoy, and also the hood latch wasn't properly aligned when the hood was closed. Have the dealer check those.
