2007 hd 3500 transfer case

going to look at a 2007 hd 3500 4x4 for my son. was there only 1 option for the transfer case in 2007 and was it subject to the transfer case failures ive read about? truck has 89,000 on it. this is the wt model with reg cab. thanks

Is it a 2007 Classic (the 1999-2006 body, has Avalanche style lights) or a 2007 NEW body style (2007-2013 body)?

The new body got rid of the NVG/NP 261 and 263 cases (the ones that pump rub). They were replaced by the MP (Magna Process) MP1225/6 and MP1625/6 transfer cases. MUCH stronger and way better.

ok thanks. i put an offer in but it didnt go through. it needed a fender and tires and a couple other small items. wasnt bad for a 9 year old truck and i didnt expect it be be perfect but ill keep looking and will keep in mind about the transfer case change. thanks
