Text and voice recognition quit working too.

The text and voice recognition worked beautifully until a couple days ago. Now it won't read me a text when I touch the screen, nor will it respond to my voice telling it to text someone. Bluetooth phone works fine though I don't know if the voice command works - I don't use that often.

 

Thoughts? Help!

Check your volume settings specifically for media. Calls and music don't rely on that setting but voice responses do. Mine stopped working for weeks. I disconnected and reconnected but nothing helped. Then one day I went to play a YouTube video and realized my volume was muted for media. After turning it up everything worked again.

I checked the media volume by putting a cd in. Yep. Volume there.

 

So I unpaired the phone and forgot Intellilink. What a PITA but repaired. It works now.

 

Possibly because I downloaded the new iOS update. That is probably what killed it.

I was referring to the media volume on the phone but I also thought you were talking about an android phone. When trying to unpair and reconnect an android phone with android auto you have to forget Bluetooth and android auto on both the phone and the truck so it's actually 4 connections that have to be forgotten but reconnecting is much easier because android auto will pair the Bluetooth on its own. I'm not sure how complicated carplay is to disconnect and reconnect
