What option goes here?

What goes in that area under the onstar buttons on the 01 tahoe? THere are 2 areas which look to be a place for some type of switch or something. Im thinking of putting a volume knob on one of them for my aftermarket Onstar conversion thing. SInce the volume knob is not adjustable once its on the dash all tucked away.

 

But wat is this spot ment for?

I think GM did this as a convenience for people that wanted to add accessories to their truck later...its a good spot to put light switches, etc. I do believe that at one time (maybe on the '99 silverados) something was there from the factory - maybe the fog light switch?!? Don't know for sure.

One spot is for the passenger airbag disable and GM has an Aux switch to fit the other, although I'm not sure if anything came with that switch installed from the factory. Ride Control and Quadrasteer controls also fit there.
