IntelliLink - Texting Error Message - _$!Mobile!$_

Recently purchased at 2016 GMC Sierra SLE 1500 with the GMC IntelliLink system.

For the first 4K miles / 4 month, everything worked great on the voice texting feature of the truck. Via voice, send messages, receive messages and the system would read them out and ask if you wanted to reply, everything worked great either wired USB or Bluetooth connected.

This past week while on a trip, I noticed each time I'd attempted to text using the voice command USB wired to send a text, I'd get an error message : "Message sent to _$!Mobile!$_ failed." So I tried via Bluetooth only, the same error message. Didn't show up on the dash like before, but shows on the phone with the same error message.

Now the issue is not consistent, I was able to send/receive from some phone numbers successfully, after repairing the system for about a day. But give it a day and I'm back to the error messages.

I've ran through the pairing process several times. I've tested the iphone6 outside the car to confirm the phone is working and its fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Frustrating to pay this kind of money for a truck and have basic features causing an issue this early on.

Thank you!

Pretty good chance this is an issue with the phone, not the truck. GM can only build the infotainment system to meet current protocols, phones change almost yearly and Apple is known to be very hard to get basic features to work that normally work on other phones just fine.

Thanks for the message.

I fully agree with the comments about Apple.....I'm not a huge apple fan myself.

With that said, I've conducted some trouble shooting on the issue.

Also, the phone and truck both worked fine the first 4K miles or 3 months. The issue just started recently.

No updates have been made to the phone or truck that I'm aware.

The phone works great outside the truck no issues. In the truck if I turn off Blue Tooth and no cable works fine.

After doing the the repairing the truck to the phone it works great on Bluetooth the first couple of times no issue.

Plug in the cable, works great once then goes back to this error message.

once the error message occurs nothing works after that, cable or no cable, no matter what.

Delete the error message txt, still won't work either way.

Repair the phone to the truck will work with cable once then back to error message.

Next steps will be to try an older phone with older iOS to see if an issue.

It appears the texting is sending to an odd phone number and not the number I've requested the text sent to.

Its going to +1 (662) 4523

That's the number that shows when it fails.

Any help, greatly appreciated.
