portable MP3/CD player w/car hookup

My mom asked me this morning about getting a small portable discman for work.  That got me to thinking this could be a way to get MP3's in my truck.  CD's are great, but the versatility of MP3's is even better.  Is it possible to get one that plays CDs and MP3s but at the same time has a car hookup setup, and an AC plug?  AC plug for my mom at work, but the car hookup for my truck!    What connections do I need to make it work in my truck?  I don't HAVE to have the DC power cable for my truck (batteries might work).  I have a tape player in my truck, so can I use that as the audio connection to my truck?  At the same time when I get to work I want to be able to listen at my desk.  I want to play MP3s at work and in my truck.  This might be a though combo.  Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

ya ther are a few of them out there that will read mp3's but they are like 160 i think its been a bit since i last looked

I got a memorex model no: mpd8505cp that I got at Target.  I think it was under a 100 bucks, 89.00 maybe.  It was no more than 120 or I wouldn't of bought it, I can be cheap at times.  It came with dc and ac connecters, cassete adapter and headphones.  It features a 45 second anti skip system.  Pretty good on battery life, so far very satisfied.  Also I have about a 120 songs on one CDR, very nice for trips.  It will display info like album, aritst, title (if the file contains that information) and you can search by such too.  The search features look like they may be cumbersome, never used that feature yet.
