DRL Bulbs

Mine have burned out. How do you change these bulbs??

This truck constantly amazes me with how EASY it is to work on. First, there is no need to remove the plastic cover over the radiator and hood latch. Just pull the two pins that hold the headlight assembly in, and lift it out and unplug it. Set it aside, and then remove the lower light assembly. There is no need to try and remove the DRL socket while the lower light assmebly is still in the truck (unless you have REAL SMALL hands). If you look to the outboard side of the assembly, behind the turn signal, there is a clip built in to the assmebly. Push the lever on the clip away from you, toward the outside, and slide it out. The inboard end of the assembly is held in by two tabs that fit behind a small bracket. When you reassemble the lower light (after changing the bulb), you install the inboard end first, placing the two tabs inside the bracket. Then rock in the other end and push the clip back into the slot behind the turn signals. I didn't need ONE tool to replace these bulbs. It's about time the engineers got their "stuff" together on building these trucks. Everything I have run across so far, was well thought out and engineered. I am VERY IMPRESSED! Keep up the good work GM. I'll be buying another one for sure. "

 

Of course, this applies to the NBS (99-up) GM's.

 

My hands are pretty small and I never have to remove the lower light assy. Just reach in there, twist and go.

Got it down to 'bout 2 mins per side now. Enjoy!
