07 Sierra - no cruise control

Light comes on but no cruise. Read that on other trucks this is usually the brake light switch; same true here? If yes, anyone know part number?

If this doesn't fix the issue how hard is it to pull the steering wheel cruise control switches?

Yes, 3 brake lights.Top 3 bulbs.

Amazon had the brake light switch for around 10 bucks, looks easy to swap out so will have one tomorrow.

Make sure to lubricate the hinge of the brake pedal too or the return spring may not bring the pedal up to detent, therefore not releasing the brake switch completely.

More I read about this the more spooked I get about the clip. Looks like bolt out, pry off clip, replace switch, reverse to install but there's a LOT of info out there with people complaining about the clip

Lift the top side a bit so latch clears the top of the stud and it should just slide off.

 

 

And according to this there are 2 separate contacts for brake lights and cruise release.

Will have to wait til Saturday to try, can't risk disabling the truck.

Mine are adjustable so a bit different, same basic deal though. I'll try it Saturday so I'll have time if it goes sideways. any tips for reinstalling the clip?
