Clicking in cv after 4inch lift

Guys - I just had a 4inch rancho put on my 03 1500. I'm noting a slight clicking coming from both front tire cv joints. I know that the angles are different now -which could be causing this, but was wondering if any of you have the same issue. I haven't confirmed that its from the CV, but am on the way.

Ok - not a clicking... its a crackling and it is the boot itself. The pleats/ribs are rubbing against each other due to the new angles.. Threw some armour all on just to lube up a bit and the noise went away. ...

Do you guys throw anything special on the CV boots to keep them flexible/lubricated? With the lift and new angles, probably makes sense to do a little maintenance on 'em.

I'd like to see a picture of the angles yours are running at. Mine are barely a 10 degree angle which is pretty insignificant, and VERY close to OEM.

Yeah I have the same clicking right now on my left front and I put on a 6" lift also. Wasnt sure where it was coming from. You said Armour all did the trick?

If you must spray them with anything use a silicon spray. If you put a oil based lube on there, the dirt will stick and wear out boots very fast. Use something like liquid wrench or something similar.

thanks for the advice on the silicone based. I only used what I had lying around at the time that would make the boot slippery..

Dejavu - to help isolate the noise - I jacked the front tire off the ground, and turned it manually to get a feel for where the noise was coming from. Was relieved that it wasn't in the joint itself.
