90 GMC S15 Fuel Issue

We've been having fuel issues with my son's 90 GMC S15 truck.

 

A few weeks back it wouldn't start in a parking lot. No fuel in the throttle body. We left it there and went back the day and it started and he drove it home, maybe 20 minutes. Once home it wouldn't start after he shut it down. No fuel again. We went out the next morning and it started up and ran fine for a couple of weeks.

 

Yesterday it wouldn't start after my son stopped at a convenience store. No fuel in the throttle body. We went back a few hours later and it started up and ran fine.

 

When it won't start we can pour a little gas in the throttle and it will start for a few seconds.

We replaced the fuel pump several months back. We just rebuilt the throttle body but didn't help.

 

Could it be the fuel pump again? Is there a fuel pump relay or fuse that could be causing the issue?

Are there any sensors (or something) that would shut the fuel pump off? Such as a temp sensor or oil pressure sensor?

It is a little late for a response, but here goes. First, you said you changed the fuel pump. Good chances you bought the cheapest fuel pump you could find (that's your first problem). The part you didn't mention (second part), did you check the restrictiveness of the fuel filter??? If any fuel pump fails, it's either a very restrictive fuel filter or high ethanol based fuels that melt down the insides of the fuel pump. What your stating is when the fuel system has cooled down / cold, everything works good until the fuel pump warms up / throttle body solenoid heats up. Rebuilding the throttle body??? If you didn't change the throttle body solenoid (fuel injector itself with the 2 terminals) all you did was a throttle body reseal. I'd find someone with the capacity to check fuel pressure when warm at the throttle body fuel lines. Chances are to replace the cheap fuel pump, with a higher quality pump and change the fuel filter for a start.
