Yukon led tail lights

My wife's 2015 Yukon had a led brake light burn out on one side. It's $664.33 to replace it. Apparently the whole housing has to be replaced, it's a sealed unit. Has anyone else ran across this?

Not that exact part issue, but much of the Yukon is modular, which means "replace an entire piece".

 

On our 2010, we replaced two complete outside mirrors, one because a plastic gear inside (for the power fold) broke, and another for the LED's inside the mirror which burned out. I think the price was about what you've been quoted for the taillamp. We also had a malfunction of the temperatrure control module in the heating/AC, like a small computer instead of a cable (as in past cars). The AC control was electronic. Broken? Replace the entire circuit board.

I have a 2015 Yukon with the led brake light going off during the day & works fine at night. So I know I do not need a new housing. Just wondering if you did get it fixed & was it the housing or something else. Thanks
