Ren & Stimpy

Welll, did anybody catch the "new" R&S on last nites TNN? I WAS really looking forward to it. Whaddya think? This is what I thought:

I loved R&S on Nick way back when. It was tacky but never stepped over the line (for me anyway). Last nites episode was just freaking gross. Did I get old and outgrow this or what? Eating boogers and puke was just nasty IMO. On Nick I remember that couldn't say "booger" so they made up "magic green nose goblins" instead. Much funnier than "booger" again IMO. And R&S are definitely out of the closet now. What was only glimpsed and guessed back in the Nick days is now blatent. I would've rather they kept it limited to innuendo. If you care to see what I'm talking about , go to the TNN website and watch the video clips ("pitcher / catcher").

I realize this is now an "adult" cartoon, but how adult is eating boogers and vomit?

Anyway, rant off. I was just wondering if anyone else caught the show and what they thought of it. I think they are also going to re-run some originals which I will watch, but the new stuff is just too much for this old fart. Ohhh, I remember the good 'ole days, sonny.....

Ahhhh, Ren & Stimpy. The memories come flooding back. I missed last night's episode but I haven't really liked them after the original couple of seasons. Space Madness, the one where Ren fakes being a mouse, etc. What a riot.

You ain't kidding about them coming out of the closet. I am like you, and thought I outgrew those guys. It wasn't a bad episode until that ending. Not my cup of tea. I was turned off by that leap into bed maneuver at the end. I'll not be watching it anymore. I still have all the original episodes on tape, so I'll just have to enjoy them. TNN did show the classic R&S later that night. I can handle that. They can keep the new R&S. Too off the wall for my tastes. And that's coming from a big fan of the old shows.
