Hi nonstop,

not too sure I understand question but if the fan works and you dont have different speeds, my choice would be to head for the resistor pak. It controls the speeds of the fan motor.

I think it is your resistor pack. These things are in most vehicles today and control the speeds. The same manufacturer makes them for all vehicles and there was rash of failures from '98 to 2001 with them.

The symptom varied but ranged from some speeds not working, to only one speed functioning.

Not sure if the trucks have them, but I'll bet they do.

Hi nonstop,

Thats a good question but from my experience it should be very close to the fan motor. Unless you have a component locator book you could try www.autozone.com they have some good pics.
