2013 Silverado 1500 Center Console Storage in standard cab

Folks, this is a [white] 2013 Worktruck, standard cab with an 8' bed. I remember my Dad's 1967 Chevy truck that seemed to have lots of space behind the bench seat for shotguns, but the newer trucks don't do that. Got to run the seat forward in order to put ANYTHING behind the seat.

 

Imagine my (guarded) hope in seeing this:

Center Console Storage
Vehicles with an upper and lower center console storage area have cupholders included

 

 

Pull the lever (A) up to access the upper storage area. Raise the upper storage bin, then pull the lever (B) up to access the lower storage area. Use the key to lock and unlock the lower storage area.

 

But I went out today, and no holy joy. I have a 60/40 seat, and the center part is definately NOT in any way going to open.

 

Is this the only way it can be, or can I get a center console lower storage area from a salvage yard?

No AZ3 in my RPOs. AE7, SEAT, FRT SPLIT DRIVER PASS EASY ENTRY

 

Center folding jump seat AZ3

I think you would need both front seats (D&P) + the console.
