Mudflap Question

Recommended Posts

My 2015 HD is the first GMC I have ever owned. It came with all the factory flaps which do a great job from rock chips on the side of the truck. I have always owned chevys before which don't have the plastic fenderwell lip which actually hangs down a bit. All of my chevys were rock chipped like crazy, but I never cared living in the desert. Now that I'm in the Midwest I want to protect the sides from rust. So my question is, does anybody know how well the GMC fenderwell trims work without the flaps?

If you are worried about rock chips in your paint (that would form rust over time) I would leave your flaps on. The GMC fenderwell trims aren't designed to be a stand alone mudflap. Hope this helps

They would work the same since they don't protect down the side, just the fender lip. Don't take the mud flaps off or if you don't like them and are different than this pic get these, they fit perfect and are sturdy, they say GMC on the rear flaps, embossed in the same color so it's not sticking out like a sore thumb.
