Best way to level front end

I am planning on leveling the front end of my 02 2500HD but I had a couple of questions. I know messing with the factory steering geometry is never a "good" idea, but is there a better way than just cranking up the torsion bars? Or is raising the torsion bars okay if you also drop the front differential? Any advice would be great!

It's better to get a proper lift kit, that moves the whole front suspension/diff down (relative to the frame) a couple of inches.

 

People crank the torsion bars because it's cheap.

 

The diff isn't really the problem. It's that the front suspension winds up sitting close to one extreme instead of at it's designed mid-point, so the angles are wrong, and the suspension doesn't work properly.

You can buy upper control arms with new keys and shocks and the truck rides better then just cranking the bars.. but your spending 400-500 on upper arms usually. Mine as well buy a full 4" left and then it will ride better then stock if you buy a quality lift

I've considered a full 4 inch lift but I just bought new tires last summer and I didn't think 265 tires would really look that good and I really didn't want to buy another set of tires.

Maybe you could sell tires to a buddy or on here for decent price and then get new ones to match a lift? Leveling kits no matter how you do it will ride rough, unless you spend 1200 on cognitive parts, but you can spend 1400-1600 for a nice 4-6" lift and hats better. Keep it the way you have it and crank your torsion bars a turn or 2 for now and put some nice shocks on it, when your tires wear out then lift it.
