Fading Fender Flares

I've got the black factory fender flares. They have looked good and stood up to weather for over a year. The other day, I put a coat of wax on the truck and thought I should do something for the flares to keep them looking new.

I put Armorall Protectant on them. Looked great for 2 days and then it rained and washed it away, I guess. Now, my flares look worse than they ever have. They look faded gray.

Does anyone have a suggestion for making them black again? something that'll last longer than the Armorall did? They looked good for so long, I'm really sorry I tried to treat them at all.

Perhaps some Meguiars trim detailer. I've used it on the black bumper covers and mirrors with good results.

What 99 said will work. I use mothers back to black on mine and it brings them back to life for a short time. Key is to use it about once a month. Kinda a pain but worth it.
