PLEASE Help needed 98 vortec 454 7.4 fuel rail injector question

Hi All

 

Replacing the rochester injectors with upgraded bosch 4 hole injectors

 

Had all the rear fuel lines connected and both front and back bolts that hold down the plastic fuel rail.The new injector as seen in pic 1 has 2 grooves on rail end (1 & 2).When I connected the metal clip to groove 1,the injectors did not look to be fully seated on the spray end.The plastic rail is pretty much fixed in place.Pic 2 shows rear rail bolt underside bracket resting on lower intake.So where the rail sits,it stays,no play up and down to be able to push injectors deeper on spray end

I removed all the metal clips (no fun) and placed them on groove 2 and they seem to be seated correctly on the spray end as they pushed down a bit

 

Anyone ever run into this issue.?

 

Will they work with the clips on groove 2? pic 3

 

The older injectors only had one groove as seen in pic 1.The replacements have 2 grooves as seen in pic

 

Both the o rings on each injector ends match up (distance)

 

I have the injectors wired back up and a fuel gauge on the Schrader valve.

 

Can I connect the battery and turn the key just to pressurize the rail to see if it leaks with the plenum off?
