Air ride compressor and suspension question

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hi all, I have an 08 Chevy Suburban LTZ and recently after taking the truck in for service was told that the air ride suspension shocks are leaking on both sides and need to be replaced ($1200). I can hear the air ride compressor running constantly. Id rather not spend the money right now, can I just pull the fuse for the compressor? Anyone know which one, it looks like fuse 58 might be it but I am not positive.

Thanks!

Don't expect to ride level and also you'll likely see some extra wear inside the fenders where the tires might rub on the wheel well.

When the shocks went out on my Esky (22" rims) the right rear wheel rubbed on corners or over uneven pavement. I rubbed a hole in the liner.

There should be delete kits out there. The kits usually come with coil over shocks for the rear, new conventional shocks for the front and resistors to fool the BCM that everything is still there and working. I used one on my '00 Suburban. I think the ride was actually better.
