Degas bottle line?

So again I come asking y'all for help! Y'all are batting a thousand so far and I greatly appreciate it!

 

Anyways, wife's Tahoe again, it's leaking coolant and obviously running hot when it gets low on coolant, I know there are several things it could be but I just noticed the below pictured line coming from degas bottle!?!?

 

Weird right, how can this system be pressurized with open line running? Can't, where is this line supposed to connect?

looks like the overflow line

That's the overflow line, it's correct how it is in the picture. It will clip into the little silver metal bracket on the side of the coolant tank.
