Replacing TPMS units with new tires

Recommended Posts

Figure I will need new tires by this fall. The tire pressure monitor sensors have been on my Avalanche sense 2011. I think it would be smart to have them replaced along with the new tires. Most major tire stores sell aftermarket sensors. Should I go with what they sell? Or go with the genuine GM factory part?

I replaced the wheels and tires on my '08 Sierra last year, while there was no problems with the factory sensors my OCD would not allow me to replace everything but the sensors. I bought new aftermarket on E-Bay no problems so far, (18 months)

Just put new wheels and tires on my truck and bought new sensors from tire rack. $132 shipped for Schrader sensors, relearned the sensors no prob. And they're new. I figured if tire rack sells them they must be a decent unit. U can get Delco ones cheaper on eBay or Amazon but who knows how long they've been sitting around, plus I just felt better going through tire rack. Good customer service, good reputation, etc.
