03' Sub 2500 no PS no Brake

Q - just yesterday complete failure PS and Brake

Drove fine parked came out NG

03' Sub 2500 about 128k

Fluid is clean and had been changed 28k ago and added filter inline on PS return

 

I'm guessing failure of PS pump?

Or maybe PS reg valve NG?

 

Could use ideas

You gotta put on a power steering pressure gauge to see what the pump is doing first before doing anything else.

As I do not have the PS test kit (@ almost 100 id prefer not to buy one)- Any other method to determine?

 

Is it possible to just couple High press lines instead of having them go through the Hydroboost unit? (to not have the unit inline)

 

The Steering and Brake are So hard, I'm getting like No pressure (not even weak or other etc.)

Any lines blown/leaking? Sounds like the pump took a crap. GM hydroboost systems, the brakes are first in line then the power steering gear box. Safety net if the steering fails you still have brake boost pressure.

 

If you bypass the hydroboost, you have no brake assist. I would highly advise against that.
